The Clinical Pharmacist collaborates with the Manager, Clinical Pharmacy to obtain and analyze available internal data and external prescription drug data to formulate recommendations for prescription drug program benefit design. The incumbent is accountable for the day-to-day review of drug database information for pharmacy benefits administration, initial drug prior authorization requests, drug re-authorizations requests, and drug appeals.
Job-Specific Requirements:
A current Mississippi pharmacist license (or intent to get same) is required. A Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree and a residency are preferred. Proven clinical pharmacy knowledge is required. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Excellent presentation skills are required. Proven analytical skills are required. Proven knowledge of Word and Excel is required. Knowledge of Access, Showcase and other software tools is preferred. Previous managed care or pharmacy benefits management experience is preferred. Proven project management and problem solving skills are required. Understands basic economic principals and can apply them to the pharmacy management setting.
