Job Summary:
The pharmacist is responsible for the preparation, dispensing, and oversight of medications for patients. Working closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, the pharmacist ensures safe, effective, and evidence-based medication use. They monitor patient responses to therapies, adjust dosages when necessary, and provide drug information and education to healthcare staff and patients. May include weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts. Will perform all job duties or job tasks as assigned. Will follow and adhere to all requirements, regulations and procedures of any licensing board or agency. Must comply with all Benefis Health System's organization policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and interpret physician medication orders for appropriateness. Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide pharmacokinetic dosing and drug therapy recommendations. Provide drug information and education to medical staff, patients, and caregivers. Maintain accurate patient medication records and documentation. Oversee inventory management, including proper storage and handling of pharmaceuticals. Support and mentor pharmacy students, interns and residents, if applicable. • Also responsible for the supervision of pharmacy technicians and pharmacy support personnel.
Required Qualifications:
Pharm.

D. degree, or BS Pharmacy, from an accredited school of pharmacy. Current state pharmacist license in good standing or eligibility for licensure Completion of a residency (PGY-1) preferred. Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations, therapeutics, and drug interactions. Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
Pay:
$56.96 - $80.00 per hour
