Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A long-term care pharmacy opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist in Washington, NC. This 13-week contract role offers the potential to convert to permanent based on performance. The position is Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with rotating Saturdays.

Key Responsibilities:

Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications. Monitor patient medication compliance and detect over-usage. Ensure lawful handling and supply of medicines. Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files. Provide patient counseling on medication use, side effects, and interactions. Offer additional health services such as smoking cessation and blood pressure monitoring. Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices like glucose meters. Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following protocol. Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks. Manage pharmaceutical and medical inventory. Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to identify and resolve drug-related issues.

Qualifications:

Valid North Carolina pharmacist license required. Experience in retail pharmacy is accepted; training provided as needed. Capable of managing PV1 and PV2 duties.
