Job Summary and Responsibilities As a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Ambulatory Care, you'll combine direct patient care with leadership, education, and program development. In this role, you'll serve as a clinical resource and team leader for ambulatory care pharmacy services, partnering with pharmacists, physicians, residents, students, and other healthcare professionals to improve patient care and expand pharmacy services. Approximately 85% or more of the role includes pharmacist/staffing responsibilities, with additional focus on leadership, education, quality improvement, and program development. Provide direct pharmacy care and perform staff pharmacist responsibilities. Lead and support the ambulatory care pharmacy team. Mentor and precept pharmacists, residents, students, interns, and technicians. Provide education and training for pharmacy and medical group staff. Represent pharmacy on interdisciplinary committees, councils, and workgroups. Lead quality improvement initiatives and help identify opportunities to enhance patient care. Support research, program development, policies, and departmental goals. May serve as a Residency Program Director or Coordinator, depending on location.
