Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract A pharmacy professional is needed to provide expert medication dispensing and patient care services at a primary retail location with occasional coverage at a secondary site. This contract assignment offers a structured Monday through Friday schedule, with weekends off at the main site and some weekend work possible at the secondary location.
Schedule Monday, Tuesday, Thursday:
9:00 AM - 6:00
PM Wednesday, Friday:
9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Closed on weekends and six major holidays at primary location Occasional weekend shifts at secondary retail site Required Qualifications Active New Mexico pharmacist license in good standing, or willingness to obtain prior to start Disclosure and verification of all active and inactive licenses Minimum one year of experience as a registered pharmacist preferred APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days Availability to cover shifts at secondary retail location, including occasional weekends Ideal Experience Retail pharmacy background, particularly in community grocery store settings Strong patient counseling and medication dispensing capabilities Leadership skills to supervise pharmacy technician staff effectively Flexibility and adaptability to work across multiple retail locations Rapid licensure acquisition if not currently licensed in New Mexico Willingness to obtain immunization certification promptly Open to travel with contract length of 13 weeks or longer; shorter durations also considered Key Responsibilities Accurately prepare, review, and dispense medication orders following all protocols Maintain detailed and up-to-date patient medication profiles Supervise, direct, and verify daily activities of pharmacy technicians Participate in pharmacy team responses to medical emergencies Inspect medication storage areas and identify expired products Train and orient new pharmacy team members Ensure adherence to infection control procedures throughout pharmacy operations This role provides an opportunity to apply your retail pharmacy expertise in a dynamic, supportive environment with a consistent schedule and a well-defined scope of responsibilities.
