Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract A pharmacy role in Grants, NM is available for a Pharmacist to manage clinical and operational pharmacy functions in a hospital setting. This direct hire position focuses on medication preparation, clinical pharmacy services, and departmental leadership to ensure safe and effective patient care. The role also includes participating in emergency response teams and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately prepare, fill, label, and dispense medications including IV solutions and parenteral drugs. Monitor patient drug therapies for safety, effectiveness, and adherence to age-specific criteria. Provide drug information and education to healthcare providers and patients. Maintain adequate inventory and pharmacy records in compliance with legal standards. Supervise pharmacy technicians and participate in formulary and dispensing equipment management. Respond to Emergency Code Blue and Rapid Response situations. Complete annual competency evaluations and engage in continuing education. Uphold organizational compliance, ethics, and professionalism.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy. BS in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred. Current, active New Mexico pharmacist license. 1-2 years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical rotations are welcome to apply. Strong clinical pharmacology knowledge and decision-making skills. Proficient with pharmacy information systems and automated dispensing machines. Effective communication and leadership abilities. Commitment to patient safety and regulatory compliance.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform repetitive hand tasks including IV admixture preparation. Capacity to lift up to 40 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods. This contract opportunity offers a competitive salary range of $135,000 to $168,000. Candidates should be prepared to assume leadership duties in the absence of the Pharmacy Director. to contribute your expertise in medication management and patient care within a supportive healthcare environment.
