N Pay Rate:
$2809.00•$2895.00 This mail order pharmacist position is based in Johnstown, Ohio, a welcoming and fast-growing community in Licking County. Johnstown offers a small-town feel with easy access to the amenities of the greater Columbus area. Residents enjoy quiet neighborhoods, highly regarded schools in the surrounding region, and a strong sense of community. Outdoor enthusiasts can take advantage of nearby parks, trails, and recreational areas, while being a short drive from cultural attractions, dining, shopping, and professional sports in Columbus. The pharmacy is a centralized mail-order operation that supports a broad outpatient and chronic-care population. It is designed for efficiency, accuracy, and patient safety, using streamlined workflows and modern pharmacy systems to manage large prescription volumes. Pharmacists here work in a structured, team-oriented environment that values clinical judgment, operational excellence, and collaborative communication with prescribers and support staff. As a mail order pharmacist on the 12-hour night swing shift, you will be responsible for the clinical and technical oversight of prescription processing. A typical shift includes verifying new and refill prescriptions, performing comprehensive drug utilization reviews, checking for drug-drug and drug-disease interactions, reviewing allergy and duplicate therapy alerts, and ensuring appropriate dosing, duration, and therapeutic selection. You will also verify final product accuracy for medications prepared by pharmacy technicians, including oral solids, liquids, and specialty medications when applicable. Your role will include providing support for medication adherence programs and refill synchronization services, resolving prescription-related issues with prescribers, and collaborating with technician leads and operations managers to maintain smooth workflow and turnaround times. You may participate in managing controlled substance prescriptions in accordance with federal and state regulations, and contribute to quality assurance efforts, incident review, and process improvement initiatives. The 12-hour night swing shift schedule is ideal for pharmacists who prefer longer shifts with consolidated workdays, providing blocks of time off during the week. Night operations are typically quieter than peak daytime hours but still involve steady volume, requiring focus and independent decision-making. Patient interaction is primarily indirect, through prescriber communication and documentation, allowing you to concentrate on clinical verification, safety checks, and optimization of therapy. The environment is designed for professional growth, with exposure to a wide range of medication classes and disease states. Pharmacists gain valuable experience in high-volume mail order practice, which is increasingly important for pharmacists seeking to diversify their career paths into ambulatory care, population health, managed care, or pharmacy operations leadership. You will work alongside experienced technicians and fellow pharmacists who are committed to maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and service. Johnstown's proximity to Columbus offers additional advantages for your life outside of work. Within an easy commute you will find major universities, arts and cultural institutions, festivals, and a dynamic food scene. The area is known for its family-friendly atmosphere, expanding economic opportunities, and convenient access to airports and regional travel. For pharmacists seeking a position that combines the calm of a close-knit community with the resources of a large metropolitan region, this role provides an appealing balance.
