This is a professional-level position that is primarily responsible for all duties associated with the dispensing of pharmaceuticals, providing customer service, professional guidance and clinical counseling to patients, health care providers and supporting staff, allowing you to work at the top of your degree! Assist with the intake and enrollment process of patients to ensuring streamlined time to therapy, access to therapy, financial assistance and continued communication between the pharmacy, prescriber, and patient. Deliver exceptional service to each patient with thorough clinical monitoring and documentation to successfully guide them through their treatment journey and to ensure optimal clinical outcomes. Consult with prescribers regarding pharmaceutical questions, formulary alternatives, cost-effective and innovative therapies to positively impact a patient's level of success on therapy. Work to prevent or resolve all drug-related issues including interactions and adverse events with thorough drug utilization reviews and consultations with patients, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals. Assist prescribers with the prior authorization process including completing clinical questionnaires, reviewing medical chart notes, and developing letters of medical necessity. Serve as the medication expert by providing high quality clinical knowledge and support to facilitate care. Complete other duties or projects as requested.
Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must have a PharmD or Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy with a current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh). Current state of Ohio licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPH) required Minimum of one year of professional experience in a clinical, managed care setting Ability to work and execute job tasks in a timely manner as part of an interdisciplinary team Ability to support all aspects of pharmacy processing Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, prescribers, prescribers' agents, and patients Strong clinical background required with an understanding of medication utilization, disease state management and best practices for REMS and Limited Distribution programs
