A Retail Pharmacist provides medications to patients and educates patients on the proper use of medications. Works in the pharmacy department of a retail store. Dispenses prescription and non-prescription medications. Manages prescription records and the pharmacy patient database. May consult with healthcare facilities or insurance companies to develop efficient methods of prescription.

Responsibilities:
Ensures age-appropriate, safe, and cost-effective medication therapies for patients. Participates in departmental targeted clinical programs as assigned. Process orders and dispense medications according to established policies, procedures, protocols, and regulatory requirements. Administration of the ACGME accreditation and reporting requirements to external agencies. Ensure age-appropriate, safe, and cost-effective medication therapies for patients. Contribute to the educational goals of the department. Enhance the performance, accuracy, and efficiency of pharmacy processes, to promote patient safety and improve outcomes.
Qualifications:
Education Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or a Pharm D degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
Experience:
Preferred completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency or equivalent, but not required. Preferred clinical pharmacy experience in a hospital setting. Licensure/Certification Required licensure as a pharmacist and in good standing with the OK State Board of Pharmacy. Required to maintain preceptor license through the OK State Board of Pharmacy upon hire. Required to achieve/maintain ASHP-endorsed PGY1 residency program preceptorship upon hire. Strongly encouraged to achieve/maintain board-certification in related practice area. Compensation/Benefits Up to $81.87/hr. based on previous work experience. Weekday Evening differential $3.00/hr.
