Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract A remote Clinical Pharmacist Specialist role is available, focusing on managed care pharmacy within a dynamic health plan setting. This position requires a licensed pharmacist with strong expertise in clinical pharmacy services, collaborating with healthcare teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective medication management.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care through Medication Therapy Management (MTM) programs. Engage in population-based disease management and specialty drug care coordination. Conduct drug utilization reviews and participate in clinical policy development. Communicate therapeutic recommendations tactfully to physicians to optimize patient outcomes. Collaborate with medical directors, nurse case managers, and network providers. Participate actively in Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee activities. Educate healthcare professionals and members on medication-related issues. Develop and apply medical and drug policies to promote safe, evidence-based medication use. Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving healthcare environment. Maintain professional development and clinical pharmacy expertise.
Qualifications:
Active Pharmacist License in Oregon, Washington, or California is required. Minimum of 3 years' experience in a managed care environment, including prior authorizations, audits, appeals, and ALJ court hearings. Strong communication skills with the ability to influence provider prescribing practices effectively. Ability to work independently in a remote setting, with strong time management capabilities. Comfort working occasionally on rare weekends, a few times per year.
