Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Pharmacist in Charge Job Type Contract To Hire This role is for a Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) at a 503A Compounding Pharmacy, offering a contract-to-hire opportunity with a 13-week initial assignment. The PIC is the top pharmacy leader accountable for the safe, compliant, and efficient management of prescription fulfillment and all sterile and non-sterile compounding operations. The position demands full regulatory oversight across state, federal, FDA 503A, and USP standards, as well as leadership of daily operational functions including quality assurance, personnel training, and facility readiness.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the legally designated Pharmacist-in-Charge for all relevant state pharmacy licenses. Act as the main liaison for Boards of Pharmacy, inspectors, auditors, and regulatory agencies. Ensure timely reporting of operational changes, ownership changes, facility modifications, or PIC transitions. Oversee sterile and non-sterile compounding procedures and documentation. Lead quality assurance initiatives and continuous improvement projects. Supervise pharmacists, compounding supervisors, technicians, and production staff. Manage daily batch record creation, review, and approval. Support production scheduling to maintain on-time delivery, accurate inventory, and effective capacity planning.
Qualifications:
Active Pennsylvania Pharmacist License. Minimum of 5 years experience as a Pharmacist-in-Charge or Pharmacy Manager. In-depth knowledge of USP , , , and applicable state and federal regulations for 503A operations. Proven experience leading audits and regulatory inspections.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM Flexible Saturdays as needed This role is based in Coatesville, PA, within a leading compounding pharmacy environment.
