This role involves direct involvement in clinical pharmacy services to ensure the safe and effective use of medications.

Key Responsibilities:

Review medication orders from physicians and extenders, ensuring appropriateness of drug, dose, frequency, and route. Assess patient allergies, medical history, drug interactions, and lab data prior to medication dispensing. Maintain accurate inventory control of pharmaceuticals. Provide drug information and clinical support to healthcare team members. Supervise pharmacy students and technicians, ensuring safety and accuracy in medication preparation. Collaborate with healthcare providers to support patient care planning and discharge pharmacy needs.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited program required; Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred. Minimum of 1 year hospital pharmacy experience or completion of Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) in a clinical setting is advantageous. Valid Pennsylvania Pharmacist License is mandatory. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred.

Work Schedule:

Five 8-hour shifts during daytime hours. This contract assignment starts on May 4 and continues through August 1, providing an excellent opportunity to contribute to patient care within an academic healthcare environment.
