Job Description

Purpose The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for assuring positive patient therapeutic outcomes by assessing therapy appropriateness, including coordination with other health care professionals, and providing clinical and distributive pharmacy services for all medications dispensed by RareMed Solutions. The role is responsible for safe and efficient coordination of patient care and providing clinical drug information to meet the needs of the patient and their healthcare team. The Clinical Pharmacist, acting in its professional capacity, directs supportive personnel such as Pharmacy Technicians in their daily activities as it relates to managing and providing these services. The Pharmacist will contribute to the pharmacy licensing effort and is willing to pursue licensure across multiple states as needed. Responsibilities Verifies prescription drug orders for completeness and clinical appropriateness Communicates with medical providers offices for order clarification and coordination of care to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes Communicates with patients regarding prescribed therapies to promote patient outcomes Verifies prescription orders during prescription fulfillment process Participates in after-hours and on call emergency prescription order fulfillment Monitors designated inventories and supplies according to established policies and procedures Identifies and implements quality improvement opportunities to improve operational and clinical initiatives pertaining to pharmacy services Assist in daily data quality control activities Assist in running pharmacy daily huddles when required Supervise pharmacy staff including rotation students, technicians, and fellows, and ensure completion of daily operations when acting as the primary pharmacist on site Participates in building and maintaining respectful, collaborative internal/external team relationships, exercising and encouraging positivity Facilitate cold chain workflows in accordance with established policies and procedures Acquire pharmacist licensure across multiple states Additional projects and activities as assigned Required Qualifications Doctor of Pharmacy or Registered Pharmacist degree from an ACPE accredited institution Active and unrestricted Pharmacist licensure for Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 1 year of non-commercial pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, or retail pharmacy experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills Effective time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities Preferred Qualifications 2+ year as a practicing, licensed pharmacist in a non-commercial pharmacy or specialty pharmacy Certified Specialty Pharmacist (CSP) certification REMS product experience Experience with cold chain therapies Experience with verifying and dispensing cold chain products Pharmacist licensure in multiple states Experience with CPR+ dispensing software Company Benefits Medical Insurance, Vision and Dental included 401K Paid-Time Off Work Environment RareMed offers a hybrid work structure, combining remote work and in-office requirements. The frequency of onsite requirements will vary depending on role, operational needs, meetings, client visits, or team collaboration activities. Employees must be within commuting distance to Pittsburgh, PA, and able to report to the office when needed. We will provide advance notice when possible. This role routinely involves standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. When telecommuting, employees must have reliable internet access to utilize required systems and software required for the position's responsibilities. The amount of time the employee is expected to work per day or pay period will not change while working from home. Employees are responsible for the set-up of their home office environment, including physical set-up, internet connection, phone line, electricity, lighting, comfortable temperature, furniture, etc. Employee s teleworking space should be separate and distinct from their home space and allow for privacy. Physical Demands Individual must be able to stand for extended periods of time; lift up to 20 pounds; and utilize the computer and bar code scanner. Must be able to use proper personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, gloves, eye protection and face masks when needed.
