Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract A remote Pharmacist role is available, requiring licensure in Oregon, Washington, or California, along with a minimum of three years' experience in a managed care environment. This position focuses on delivering clinical pharmacy services within a managed care setting, emphasizing medication therapy management, population-based disease management, and specialty pharmaceutical coordination. The role is primarily Monday through Friday with rare weekend requirements a few times per year.

Remote (must hold OR, WA, or CA Pharmacist License)
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care through Medication Therapy Management (MTM) programs. Collaborate with medical directors, nurse case managers, network physicians, and other providers to deliver coordinated, evidence-based, cost-effective care. Conduct drug utilization reviews and participate in clinical policy development, including Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committee activities. Effectively communicate therapeutic recommendations to physicians, ensuring necessary clinical changes. Develop and implement medication action plans, engaging with healthcare providers and educating members and caregivers. Maintain professional development through ongoing education and adapt to a fast-paced, evolving healthcare environment. Manage specialty pharmaceutical acquisition and care coordination. Handle pharmacy and medical claims review, and actively participate in drug policy application to promote safe and cost-efficient pharmaceutical use.
Qualifications:
Active Pharmacist License in OR, WA, or CA. Minimum 3 years' experience in a managed care pharmacy environment, including experience with prior authorizations, audits, appeals, and ALJ hearings. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with healthcare professionals and patients. Ability to prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
