Overview IT Clinical Pharmacist Full Time, 80

Position Summary:
Under general direction, the IT Clinical Pharmacist will be a licensed pharmacist resource in support of the implementation of IT projects. Pharmacist expertise and general facility operational knowledge is a critical part of building and maintaining the clinical application systems. Responsibilities Provide expertise of pharmaceutical, pharmacokinetic, and pharmacodynamic rules to be utilized in the implementation and maintenance of Information Services projects. Focus on patient-safety centered medication delivery processes. Provide clinical expertise and relevance in building decision support notices to be displayed to physicians during order entry. Drive the standardization of the pharmacy departments' clinical and distributive functions to assure quality and safe continuum of care across the health care system. Link the projects with the medication safety practices and coordination of process efforts. Provide a consistent level of communication with physicians and other clinicians across Covenant in regards to clinical efficacy and therapeutics in medication delivery. Assist in training, promotion and implementation of IT projects. Bridge the communication between the daily operational aspects of the facility pharmacies and the critical decisions involving application development, build and implementation. Local travel required. Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Minimum Education:
None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
Minimum Experience:
Three to five (3-5) years of hospital experience in a management or "super-user" position required.
Licensure Requirement:
Currently holds a state license to practice Pharmacy. Must be currently licensed in the state of Tennessee or must become licensed in the State of Tennessee within 6 months of employment with Covenant Health. Employee must have a valid driver's license Class D in state of residence and state mandated minimum insurance coverage. Driving record must meet Covenant Health minimum standards at the date of hire and throughout employment tenure.
