About Us:
At Vital Care, we are a leading home infusion pharmacy committed to providing exceptional patient care through specialized sterile compounding and adherence to USP 797 guidelines. Our mission is to ensure the well-being of our patients by delivering high-quality medications and personalized services. We are currently seeking an experienced Relief Pharmacist to join our team on a temporary basis, contributing to our dedication to excellence in healthcare.
Position Overview:
As a Relief Pharmacist at Vital Care of South Dallas, you will be a vital part of our pharmacy team, ensuring the accurate preparation of sterile compounded medications and the provision of top-notch patient care. Your expertise in USP 797 regulations, sterile compounding techniques, and interactive skills will be essential in maintaining the highest standards of pharmaceutical services. This role involves collaborating with employees, physicians, referral sources, and patients to deliver outstanding patient experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform sterile compounding of medications in compliance with USP 797 guidelines.

Provide effective communication and collaboration with employees, referral sources, physicians, and patients.

Verify prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness, ensuring optimal patient care.

Utilize your clinical experience to counsel patients on medication usage and potential side effects.

Manage pharmacy support personnel, offering guidance and ensuring efficient operations.

Maintain accurate patient records, documentation, and label preparations.

Adhere to all state and federal regulations related to pharmacy operations.

Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and ensure patient safety in all aspects of pharmacy operations.

Work in a dynamic environment to ensure seamless patient care during staff absences.
Qualifications:
Licensed pharmacist in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy in the state of patient services; actively licensed in the state of patient services.

Good interactive skills with employees, referral sources, physicians, and consumers.

Three (3) years of experience preferred.

Minimum one (1) year experience with infusion therapy and sterile compounding preferred.

Sterile compounding training preferred.

Experience with management of pharmacy support personnel preferred.
Physical Requirements:
May require lifting over 40 lb. (e.g., lifting cases of enteral formula and infusion solutions).May require standing for extended periods (e.g., standing at the laminar air flow hood during product preparation).May require frequent use of a computer keyboard (e.g., data entry, patient documentation, label preparations).May require use of latex products (e.g., clean and sterile gloves, latex injection ports).
Additional Information:
This is a temporary relief position to cover staff absences.

Flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings, may be necessary.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
