Job Description

Part-Time Compounding Pharmacist Dyer Drug Store 133 McKinney Street Farmersville, TX 75442 Dyer Drug Store is an independent, family-owned community pharmacy that has proudly served Farmersville and the surrounding communities for nearly 100 years. We are seeking a pharmacist who is passionate about patient care, enjoys building relationships, and is interested in practicing pharmacy in an environment focused on people rather than corporate metrics. We are currently seeking a part-time pharmacist , but we are open to discussing full-time opportunities, relief pharmacist arrangements, or customized schedules with the right candidate. Independent pharmacy with nearly 100 years of community service No late-night shifts Closed Sundays Small-town atmosphere with strong community relationships Opportunity to know your patients personally Practice pharmacy without corporate quotas and production metrics Collaborative team environment Opportunity to perform and expand non-sterile compounding skills Position Responsibilities Perform non-sterile compounding, including pain creams, hormone replacement therapies, veterinary compounds, and customized capsules Accurately verify and dispense prescriptions Counsel patients regarding medication use and treatment outcomes Monitor drug interactions and ensure medication safety Supervise and support pharmacy technicians Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers Answer phones and assist customers as needed Assist with insurance billing issues and prior authorizations Administer immunizations Maintain compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations Contribute to a positive, patient-focused pharmacy culture Pharmacy Environment Approximately 250 prescriptions filled daily Team of 3 pharmacists and 5 technicians Approximately 20% of workload involves non-sterile compounding Pharmacy One/Liberty pharmacy management system Spanish-speaking ability is a plus but not required Qualifications Required Active Texas Pharmacist License in good standing Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Ability to stand for extended periods Commitment to patient safety and quality care Strong work ethic and professional accountability Preferred Non-sterile compounding experience Independent pharmacy experience Current immunization certification or willingness to obtain certification Experience with Pharmacy One/Liberty software Familiarity with third-party insurance billing and prior authorizations Spanish-speaking skills
Schedule Monday-Friday:
8:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Saturday rotation required:
8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Closed Sundays Schedule Expectations Typical weekday shifts require arrival approximately 15 minutes before opening and may require approximately 15 minutes after closing to complete opening and closing procedures. Pharmacists are expected to be prepared to serve patients when the pharmacy opens and to complete all necessary end-of-day responsibilities before leaving. We are looking for dependable professionals who take ownership of their responsibilities and understand that patient care begins before the first customer walks through the door. Occasional after-hours consultation or emergency needs may arise, but these situations are uncommon.
