Job Description
Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract A 13-week contract opportunity is available for a Sterile Compounding Pharmacist in Helotes, TX, with a schedule from 12 PM to 8 PM. This role focuses on delivering specialized pharmacy services for patients requiring home infusion therapy.
Responsibilities:
Assess patients' eligibility for home infusion therapy and develop personalized medication plans. Monitor and adjust therapy based on clinical assessments, laboratory data, and pharmacokinetics. Prepare, verify, and dispense sterile medications according to USP standards and regulatory requirements. Educate patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers on medication use, infusion administration, and safety. Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless continuity of care and optimize patient outcomes. Manage infusion devices, maintaining quality assurance and medication safety protocols. Provide accurate drug information, maintain thorough documentation, and support compliance with pharmacy regulations.Qualifications:
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or graduate from an accredited School of Pharmacy. Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license in Texas. One or more of the following:- Minimum 1 year sterile IV compounding experience,
- Experience in non-sterile compounding, immunizations, and Medication Therapy Management (MTM),
- Completion of an ASHP-accredited Pharmacy Residency,
- Completion of an Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE),
- Equivalent pharmacy experience.
