  • 6:30 AM 7 Days On / 7 Days Off Schedule Will transition to Day Shift around July/August to provide coverage through January 2027 Job Summary
  • We are seeking an experienced Inpatient Pharmacist for a travel assignment in an acute care hospital setting.
The pharmacist will be responsible for medication preparation, dispensing, clinical dosing, pharmacotherapy management, and ensuring safe and effective medication use for pediatric and inpatient populations. Candidates must have recent hospital pharmacy experience and some exposure to pediatrics. Retail-only pharmacy experience will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and dispense medications in an inpatient hospital setting Perform IV preparation, sterile compounding, IV piggyback, and IV push medication preparation Monitor medication therapy including pharmacokinetic and renal dosing Review medication orders for accuracy, interactions, and safety Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams regarding medication management Maintain compliance with hospital pharmacy policies and regulatory standards Utilize Epic charting system and Pyxis medication dispensing systems Support pediatric patient medication management and dosing Monitor therapeutic drug levels and adjust dosing as needed Ensure accurate documentation and medication safety practices Requirements•Active Texas Pharmacist License required PharmD preferred BLS Certification required Minimum 1 year of inpatient hospital pharmacy experience required Pediatric exposure required Experience with Epic charting system preferred Strong knowledge of sterile compounding and inpatient pharmacy operations Retail-only pharmacy experience will not be considered Preferred Skills•Pharmacokinetic dosing Pediatric dosing Renal dosing Therapeutic drug monitoring IV compounding and sterile technique Antibiotic preparation and administration Experience in acute care or children's hospital settings Schedule & Additional Details•7 On / 7 Off Schedule Every other weekend required No on-call required Block scheduling available Night shift initially with transition to day shift later in assignment
