Responsibilities Lead and manage all pharmacy operations, ensuring adherence to legal, safety, and quality standards. Supervise pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, fostering a collaborative and efficient team environment. Oversee medication dispensing processes, including compounding medications and preparing IV infusions with aseptic technique. Conduct patient assessments to optimize medication therapy, including medication administration, pain management, and medical management strategies. Maintain accurate inventory management of pharmaceuticals, including controlled substances, ensuring proper storage and documentation. Utilize pharmacy software and electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient care activities accurately. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality at all times. Provide clinical support for specialized areas such as pediatrics, critical care, LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy, and hospital-based acute care settings. Facilitate immunizations administration and patient education on medication use and health management. Collaborate with healthcare providers to support medical management plans and improve overall patient outcomes. Requirements Valid pharmacist license in good standing with relevant licensing boards. Proven experience in LTC pharmacy, critical care or hospital settings preferred. Completion of a pharmacy residency program or equivalent clinical pharmacy experience. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and pharmacology principles. Experience with pharmacy software systems, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR platforms. Demonstrated ability in compounding medications, aseptic techniques, IV insertion, infusion preparation, and medication administration protocols. Familiarity with inventory management practices for pharmaceuticals and controlled substances. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments. Experience working with EMR/EHR systems in hospital or clinical environments is highly desirable. Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage a team effectively in a fast-paced setting.
