In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and compliant dispensing of medications while providing exceptional patient care. Your expertise will support clinical decision-making, medication management, and patient education across diverse healthcare settings. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead pharmacy operations, collaborate with healthcare professionals, and enhance patient outcomes through comprehensive pharmaceutical services. Duties Dispense prescriptions accurately while verifying dosage, interactions, and contraindications in accordance with state and federal pharmacy laws. Provide expert medication counseling to patients, including guidance on proper usage, potential side effects, and storage. Conduct patient assessments to determine appropriate therapy plans and monitor clinical responses. Manage pharmacy inventory to ensure optimal stock levels, proper storage conditions, and regulatory compliance. Compound medications using aseptic techniques and adhere to USP 797 standards for sterile preparations. Collaborate with medical teams on medication management plans, pain management strategies, and acute care protocols. Lead pharmacy team members by managing workflows, training staff, and maintaining high standards of pharmacy operations and customer service. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, drug regulation policies, and pharmacy information systems (PIS). Administer immunizations and participate in patient care initiatives within community or hospital settings. Maintain accurate documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems while practicing strict clinical confidentiality policies. Skills Extensive experience in clinical pharmacy practice including critical care, pediatrics, LTC (Long-Term Care), and hospital environments. Proven ability to manage pharmacy teams effectively while fostering a collaborative work environment. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology to support comprehensive patient assessments. Proficiency with pharmacy software systems (PIS), EMR (Electronic Medical Records), EHR systems, and inventory management tools. Exceptional customer service skills combined with client communication expertise to enhance patient satisfaction. Deep understanding of drug regulation laws, pharmaceutical regulatory compliance standards such as USP 797, and practicing within HIPAA guidelines. Skilled in aseptic techniques for IV infusion preparations including IV insertion and infusion procedures. Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) certifications along with immunizations administration when required. Experience in managing pharmacy operations related to medication administration across diverse healthcare settings including community pharmacies and acute care facilities.
