Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract A hospital inpatient pharmacist position is available for an overnight shift on a 7-on/7-off schedule from 7:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. This 13-week contract assignment supports pediatric and adult patients with comprehensive pharmaceutical care responsibilities.

Houston, TX (Hospital facility near major medical center)
Schedule:
Overnight shifts 7:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. 7 days on, 7 days off
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the medication use process by reviewing patient-specific factors such as diagnosis, weight, allergies, and drug interactions to ensure dosage appropriateness and patient safety. Accurately enter medication orders into the electronic medical record system (EPIC) and verify order accuracy to prevent dispensing errors. Ensure timely processing and delivery of medications according to established guidelines. Apply aseptic technique and infection control practices in sterile product preparation; enforce these standards among pharmacy staff and technicians. Perform all duties in accordance with hospital policies and standards for the care of pediatric to adult patients.
Qualifications:
Active Texas pharmacist license and ACPE IV certification required. Minimum of 2 years recent inpatient pharmacy experience; pediatric experience preferred but not mandatory. Thorough knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail in medication dispensing and order entry. This position requires immediate availability and readiness to support overnight shifts providing critical pharmaceutical care in a hospital inpatient setting. The contract assignment offers valuable experience in a dynamic healthcare environment utilizing
EPIC EMR.
