Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Contract This opportunity is for an experienced Inpatient Pharmacist to provide clinical pharmacy services in a prominent 500-bed hospital featuring specialized units including a 42-bed NICU and 14-bed Pediatric ICU. The hospital has recently transitioned to the EPIC system from Cerner, so familiarity with EPIC is a significant advantage. This role requires dedication to delivering exceptional inpatient clinical pharmacy support throughout a night shift schedule.
Location:
Lubbock, TX Schedule:
7 days on / 7 days off, nights (Wednesday through Tuesday rotation)
Type:
Travel assignment with potential for permanent placement for candidates open to relocation
Key Responsibilities:
Manage comprehensive inpatient pharmacist duties, ensuring safe and effective medication use across multiple departments Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care and medication therapy management Utilize the EPIC system for medication order verification, documentation, and clinical decision support Participate in clinical rounds, medication reconciliation, and patient counseling as needed
Desired Qualifications:
Minimum 1-2 years of inpatient pharmacist experience, preferably within a hospital setting Experience with EPIC electronic health records highly preferred to aid transition and continuity of care Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently during night shifts Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with medical staff and patients This contract position offers a unique opportunity to support a complex patient population in a well-equipped facility while working a consistent night rotation.
