Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract This opportunity is tailored for a licensed pharmacist with a passion for pediatric care, prepared to support a children's hospital's pharmacy operations during night shifts. The role is a 6-month contract beginning immediately, with a unique schedule designed for work-life balance and a forthcoming transition to a day shift.
Responsibilities:
Manage and dispense medications accurately and safely in an inpatient pediatric setting. Utilize EPIC and Pyxis systems for medication order processing and inventory management. Collaborate closely with healthcare teams to ensure optimal pharmacy support and patient care. Adhere strictly to hospital policies and regulatory standards. Support medication preparation and verification during the assigned night shifts.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid Texas pharmacist license is required. Proven experience in an inpatient pharmacy environment, preferably within pediatrics. Proficient with EPIC electronic medical records and Pyxis automated dispensing systems. Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
Schedule:
Night shift: 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM. Work seven days on followed by seven days off. Anticipated transition to a day shift in July/August to cover an extended leave through January 2027.
