Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Pharmacist in Charge Job Type Direct Hire Join a dynamic specialty pharmacy team focused on transforming patient care through innovative pharmacy management and clinic partnerships. This role is ideal for an experienced Pharmacist-in-Charge ready to lead the opening and operational launch of a newly established specialty pharmacy in Spring, TX. As a key leader, you will guide the build-out, ensure regulatory compliance, and establish strong insurance and accreditation contracts to support specialty pharmacy services.
Responsibilities include:
Serving as the designated Pharmacist-in-Charge, overseeing licensure, controlled substances, and regulatory adherence Leading pharmacy build-out and opening phases, developing workflows and operational policies Managing daily pharmacy operations to ensure accurate dispensing and patient safety Coordinating with the Board of Pharmacy, DEA, and other regulatory agencies for inspections and compliance Supervising and training pharmacy staff for high-quality service and education standards Collaborating with providers and clinic teams to optimize specialty medication access, including insurance authorization and financial assistance Conducting audits, maintaining documentation, and responding to regulatory and accreditation bodies Managing inventory, including temperature-sensitive medications and recalls Participating in strategic planning aimed at growth and value-based care initiatives Serving as a clinical expert in specialty medications and supporting patient counseling and therapeutic substitutions
Qualifications:
Prior Pharmacist-in-Charge or Pharmacy Manager experience with operational leadership in outpatient/retail specialty pharmacy settings (inpatient experience does not meet requirements) Active and unrestricted Texas pharmacist license eligible to become PIC Experience with specialty medication benefits investigation, prior authorizations, and appeals Proficiency in pharmacy dispensing software (e.g., QS1, ComputerRx, PioneerRx) and familiarity with EMR or specialty pharmacy systems is a plus Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to engage collaboratively with providers and patients PharmD or equivalent advanced pharmacy degree required Solution-oriented, highly organized, detail-focused, and comfortable working in a start-up environment
Hours:
Monday through Friday; specific schedule to be determined. This is a direct hire opportunity offering a competitive salary range of $135,000 to $150,000 plus performance bonus, equity stake, and unlimited PTO.
