Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract A skilled inpatient pharmacist is needed for overnight shifts at a renowned pediatric hospital's Mark Wallace Tower, located in the Houston area. This 13-week contract assignment requires a dedicated professional to work a 7-on/7-off schedule from 7:30 PM to 7:30 AM, starting immediately. The role involves utilizing EPIC electronic medical records in delivering pharmaceutical care across a broad patient age range, from newborns to adults.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the medication process by ensuring appropriate dosing based on diagnosis, weight, allergies, and drug interactions. Accurately enter medication orders into the computer system, minimizing medication incidents. Verify and dispense medications correctly, adhering to safety standards and hospital guidelines. Deliver medication doses promptly while avoiding dispensing errors. Practice and enforce aseptic technique and infection control in sterile product preparation, maintaining annual recertification standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
A valid Texas pharmacist license and ACPE IV certification are mandatory. Minimum two years of recent inpatient pharmacy experience, preferably in pediatrics, though not required. Proven ability to work overnight shifts with a focus on patient safety and medication accuracy.

Position is based near Sugar Land, TX, with duties performed at the hospital campus in Houston.
