In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, and deliver exceptional patient care. Your expertise will drive medication safety, optimize pharmacy workflows, and foster a patient-centered environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on community health while leading a dynamic team of pharmacy professionals. Responsibilities Manage the overall operations of the pharmacy, including staff supervision, inventory control, and adherence to legal and safety regulations. Ensure accurate dispensing of medications, including compounding medications and IV infusions, following aseptic techniques and medical protocols. Conduct patient assessments to determine appropriate medication therapy, including pediatrics and critical care cases. Oversee medication administration processes, including immunizations, pain management protocols, and patient education initiatives. Maintain comprehensive documentation using pharmacy software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with healthcare providers for medical management plans, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through medication therapy reviews and adjustments. Lead inventory management efforts to ensure adequate stock levels while minimizing waste; oversee procurement of pharmaceuticals and supplies. Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff, fostering a team environment focused on excellent patient service and operational efficiency. Stay current with advancements in physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and hospital-based acute care practices to provide expert guidance on complex cases. Requirements Valid pharmacist license with current registration in the relevant jurisdiction. Proven experience in LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy or hospital/acute care settings; critical care experience is highly desirable. Completion of a pharmacy residency program preferred; clinical pharmacy experience is essential. Strong knowledge of pharmacy software systems, EMR/EHR platforms, and inventory management tools. Hands-on experience with compounding medications, aseptic techniques, IV insertion, and IV infusion procedures. Familiarity with immunizations administration and medication management protocols for pediatrics and adult patients. Excellent understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, pain management strategies, and medication administration procedures. Demonstrated ability to lead patient service initiatives while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Experience supervising pharmacy technicians or support staff; strong leadership skills are essential.
