Category Pharmacy-Pharmacist in Charge Job Type Direct Hire Join a specialty pharmacy management team focused on supporting clinic partners to establish and operate their own specialty pharmacies. This opportunity involves leading the opening and management of a brand-new specialty pharmacy as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC).

Direct Hire Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the designated Pharmacist-in-Charge, ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal pharmacy laws, Board of Pharmacy regulations, DEA requirements, and accreditation standards. Lead the build-out and successful opening of the new specialty pharmacy, managing all operational aspects. Obtain and maintain insurance contracts and facilitate licensing and regulatory inspections. Oversee daily pharmacy operations including accurate dispensing, safety protocols, policy enforcement, and inventory management. Supervise and train pharmacy staff while supporting clinical initiatives, patient counseling, and prior authorization procedures. Collaborate with specialty care clinics and healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy and patient outcomes. Develop workflows, lead audits, manage controlled substances oversight, and coordinate responses to accrediting bodies.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in Texas, eligible to serve as PIC. Prior experience as Pharmacist-in-Charge or Pharmacy Manager, preferably in outpatient or retail specialty pharmacy settings (inpatient pharmacists will not be considered). Strong knowledge of specialty pharmacy operations, medication benefits investigation, and financial assistance processes. Proficiency with pharmacy software (such as QS1, ComputerRx, PioneerRx, WAM) and ideally EMR or specialty pharmacy systems. Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent advanced degree. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage collaboratively with providers, patients, and regulatory agencies. Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and contribute to a team-oriented environment. Why This Role? Competitive salary range between $135,000 and $150,000.
