Job Title:
Pharmacist - Fulfillment Center (Specialty Mail Order) Job Description This role is for a Pharmacist in a high-volume fulfillment center supporting specialty prescriptions for a busy pharmacy chain. You will verify prescriptions, ensure safe and accurate dispensing, and provide customer service to patients while collaborating closely with pharmacy staff. You will help optimize inventory and financial performance, support pharmacy operations and systems, and ensure full compliance with all applicable pharmacy laws and regulations. Responsibilities Verify prescriptions and review patient data to ensure accuracy, safety, and appropriateness of therapy before dispensing. Provide professional customer service to patients, answering questions and addressing concerns related to prescriptions and medication use. Work both independently and in collaboration with pharmacy staff to fulfill prescriptions in a high-volume fulfillment center environment. Ensure the accurate dispensing of medications, including checking for potential drug interactions, dosing errors, and other clinical issues. Review and maintain accurate prescription and clinical documentation in pharmacy systems. Support and optimize inventory management processes to help improve financial and operational metrics. Stay current with pharmacy systems and workflows, including prescription fulfillment, clinical documentation, training, and inventory management tools. Provide guidance and day-to-day people management support for pharmacy staff, helping to direct workflow and resolve operational questions. Serve as a subject matter expert on-site, answering any questions that arise regarding prescriptions being filled at the facility. Follow all company policies and procedures as well as HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidential health information. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations. Use time management skills to prioritize tasks, organize workload, track details, and meet deadlines across multiple projects with varying completion dates. Motivate and support team members in researching, troubleshooting, and resolving issues related to prescription fulfillment and patient care. Essential Skills BS in Pharmacy or a Pharmacist degree from an accredited institution. Current, active Pharmacist license in the state of Utah that does not expire within the next 6 months. Experience working in a pharmacy fulfillment center or mail order pharmacy environment. Customer service experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting. Ability to self-manage with minimal oversight while maintaining high accuracy and quality standards. Knowledge of pharmacy computer operating systems such as Intercom, Promise, and Plus. Experience using time management skills, including prioritizing and organizing tasks, tracking details, and meeting deadlines across multiple projects. Experience motivating team members to research and resolve operational or clinical issues. Strong understanding of pharmacy laws, regulations, and HIPAA requirements. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Additional Skills & Qualifications Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree is highly valued. Background in specialty pharmacy or high-volume mail order operations. Demonstrated ability to lead or support people management activities in a pharmacy setting. Comfort working with and adapting to evolving pharmacy workflows and technology platforms. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with pharmacy staff and support patients remotely. Proven ability to contribute to inventory management and financial performance optimization. Work Environment This position is based in a pharmacy fulfillment center environment that supports specialty and mail order prescriptions. The role involves working with pharmacy technology platforms and operating systems such as Intercom, Promise, and Plus to manage workflow, prescription fulfillment, clinical documentation, and inventory. The schedule includes shift-based work with flexibility required for nights, weekends, and holidays; one current opening follows a schedule of Sunday 3:00 PM-11:00 PM and Monday-Thursday 1:00 PM-9:00 PM. The environment is fast-paced and metrics-driven, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, patient safety, and regulatory compliance. Team members collaborate closely while also performing independent verification and clinical review tasks. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Jordan, UT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
