Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract A well-equipped pharmacy is seeking a Staff Pharmacist for a 12-week contract opportunity starting ASAP in West Valley City, UT. This role is essential to ensuring safe, effective medication use and excellent patient care through counseling and collaboration with healthcare teams.

Wednesday to
Friday:
9:00 AM - 7:30
PM Saturday and Sunday:
2:00 PM - 6:00
PM Key Responsibilities:
Accept, accurately dispense prescription medications, and monitor patient adherence and medication use. Ensure compliance with legal requirements related to medicine supply and suitability. Maintain confidential and precise patient and pharmacy records. Provide comprehensive medication counseling including usage, side effects, and drug interactions. Deliver additional patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management. Educate patients on proper use of medical devices like glucose meters and blood pressure monitors. Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following established protocols. Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks. Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory. Identify and communicate drug-related issues to physicians and other healthcare providers. Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and interns to optimize patient care.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Utah Pharmacist License (must be in-hand). Open to retail pharmacists ready to be trained and develop skills in this setting. Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
