Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Manager Job Type Contract A unique opportunity is available for an experienced Pharmacist to serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) at a new behavioral health hospital. This role involves managing pharmacy operations in a collaborative environment, supporting patient care through expert medication management, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This position is critical in shaping pharmacy services at a facility born from a joint venture between two leading health systems.
Location:
Lynchburg, VA Job Type:
Contract (13 weeks+), with potential for temp-to-hire
Schedule:
Monday through Friday Day shifts
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily pharmacy operations and ensure safe, effective medication use for behavioral health patients. Serve as the working Pharmacist-in-Charge, managing staff and pharmacy workflow. Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. Collaborate with clinical teams to support patient care and optimize medication therapy. Lead inventory management and procurement processes.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
Licensed Pharmacist with PIC experience. Strong knowledge of behavioral health pharmacy practices preferred. Proven leadership skills in a pharmacy setting, managing both staff and operations. Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions. Effective communication and organizational skills.
