Job Description
•$15,000 Sign-On Bonus•The Pharmacy Clinical Specialist is a decentralized pharmacist position. The Pharmacist Clinical Specialist functions as a member of the multidisciplinary patient care team with direct patient care responsibilities in multiple settings across the hospital including the Intensive Care, Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Nursery units, as well as the Emergency Department and Ambulatory Infusion Center. This pharmacist works closely with the medical staff, nurses, pharmacy leadership team and fellow pharmacists in planning, implementing and assessing various medication-related programs throughout the hospital. Additional responsibilities may include development of order sets, assessment of compliance with clinical practice guidelines, medication usage evaluations, development of medication management policies, participation on hospital committees, education of Augusta Health employees, development and administration of competency assessments, precepting of pharmacy students, and management of the medication formulary. Prescriber order verification is required. Clinical Pharmacists provide onsite clinical coverage every 4th weekend. Our Clinical Pharmacy Service provides a comprehensive program comparable to leading facilities. The pharmacy has developed a team approach to pharmaceutical care fostering a collegial relationship with physicians, nurses and other health care professionals for proper medication management.
