Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract A rewarding opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist to support a 200-bed community hospital in Southwest Virginia. This contract role offers a dynamic work environment where clinical skills and leadership will be essential to patient care and pharmacy operations.
Location:
Fishersville, VA (Southwest Virginia)
Schedule/Hours:
Day shifts only Combination of 8- and 10-hour shifts
Responsibilities:
Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently Supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure smooth workflow Collaborate and consult with physicians and nursing staff on medication therapies and patient care Utilize EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis medication dispensing systems effectively
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
Valid Virginia pharmacist license is required Experience working in a hospital pharmacy setting Strong ability to manage and supervise pharmacy technicians Proficient with EPIC and Pyxis systems preferred Excellent communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration This 13-week (plus potential extension) assignment provides an excellent chance for a motivated pharmacist with hospital experience to contribute meaningfully to patient care in a supportive community healthcare environment.
