Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract A healthcare facility in Fredericksburg, VA is seeking a skilled pharmacist to support inpatient pharmacy operations. This contract position offers an opportunity to work in a busy 400-bed medical center equipped with advanced technology systems including EPIC and Pyxis. The role involves ensuring safe and effective medication management while collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and pharmacy technicians.
Location:
Fredericksburg, VA (Northern Virginia region)
Schedule/Hours:
8-hour shifts Primarily 2nd shift hours during the contract period
Key Responsibilities:
Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently Supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure workflow and compliance Provide clinical consultation to healthcare teams including physicians and nurses Participate in pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring Maintain regulatory compliance and support quality improvement initiatives
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
Valid pharmacist licensure in Virginia Strong knowledge of inpatient pharmacy operations Experience with EPIC and Pyxis medication management systems preferred Ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams Detail-oriented with strong clinical judgment This position is available to start as soon as possible and has an initial duration of 13 weeks with the potential to extend or convert to permanent employment.
