Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract A psychiatric hospital in Williamsburg, VA, seeks a temporary staff pharmacist to support the facility with medication management and dispensing. This role is a contract position lasting approximately 13 weeks or until a permanent pharmacist is hired. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, with additional shifts as needed to cover open hours.
Responsibilities:
Accurately review and verify medication orders in a hospital inpatient setting Manage and oversee automated dispensing machines to ensure proper operation and medication availability Collaborate effectively with hospital administrators, physicians, and nursing staff to optimize patient care Perform clinical and data entry tasks related to pharmacy operations Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards for psychiatric hospital pharmacy services
Qualifications:
Valid Virginia pharmacist license required Experience working in a hospital pharmacy environment preferred Proficiency in data order entry and medication verification processes Familiarity with automated dispensing machines Strong communication skills tailored to multidisciplinary healthcare teams
