Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Manager Job Type Contract A small behavioral hospital in Lynchburg, VA, is seeking a Pharmacist to serve as the working Pharmacist in Charge (PIC). This facility is a new joint venture between two established healthcare organizations, offering an opportunity to be part of an emerging healthcare setting. This position requires immediate availability, with a contract lasting 13 weeks or longer, with potential for temp-to-hire based on performance and fit.

Lynchburg, VA Schedule/Hours:
Monday through Friday Day shifts
Responsibilities:
Oversee pharmacy operations ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safety standards Manage medication dispensing and verify prescriptions accurately Collaborate with healthcare providers to support patient care plans Maintain sterile and non-sterile compounding requirements, if applicable Ensure appropriate inventory management and procurement of medications Provide leadership and training support to pharmacy staff Manage controlled substances and ensure accurate record-keeping
Desired Experience:
Licensed Pharmacist with current credentials to practice Previous experience as a Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) or Pharmacy Manager Familiarity with behavioral health pharmacy needs and protocols is preferred Ability to work independently and lead pharmacy operations within a small hospital environment Strong organizational and communication skills This contract position is a critical role in a growing healthcare facility and offers the opportunity to support behavioral health services at their foundation.
