Job Description

Category Pharmacy•Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Contract An opportunity is available for a Clinical Pharmacist with expertise in hospital inpatient care. This 13-week contract role offers a choice between evening or overnight shifts at a medical center in the Portsmouth, VA area.
Location:
Portsmouth, VA Schedule Options:
Evening:
3:00 PM•11:30
PM Overnight:
8:30 PM•7:30 AM Monday through Thursday and 7:30 PM•7:30 AM Friday through Sunday (working 7 nights on, 7 nights off)
Contract Duration:
13 weeks
Start Date:
Monday, April 20
Responsibilities:
Verify and enter medication orders with attention to drug interactions and patient safety Manage intravenous medication administration, including pain-controlled analgesia and antibiotics Monitor pharmacokinetic and renal dosing adjustments Support chemotherapy and anticoagulant therapies (preferred) Collaborate with healthcare teams using EPIC electronic medical records for documentation and order verification
Qualifications:
Must possess an active Virginia pharmacist license at the time of submission (strict requirement) Minimum of 1 year of inpatient pharmacy experience required; travel experience preferred Proficient in EPIC charting system Demonstrated knowledge of intravenous therapies, pain management, antibiotics, and drug interactions Applicants should be prepared to submit an updated resume, skills checklist, two professional references, and a copy of their Virginia pharmacist license.
