Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract Join a fast-paced healthcare environment as a Staff Pharmacist supporting long-term care patients in need of expert medication management. This contract opportunity requires immediate availability for an overnight shift, delivering critical pharmacy services from 10 PM to 7 AM.

Overnight, 10 PM - 7
AM Duration:
Contract position, beginning ASAP for 4+ weeks
Responsibilities:
Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications, ensuring compliance with legal standards Monitor patient medication adherence and identify overuse or misuse patterns Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy documentation with precision Advise patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer inquiries professionally Offer consultations on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including storage and dosage guidance Provide patient education on medical device handling such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters Compound medications for internal or external use and prepare sterile solutions according to protocols Supervise pharmacy staff such as technicians and clerks to maintain operational efficiency Maintain adequate inventory levels of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify drug-related issues and deliver seamless patient care
Qualifications:
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required Current and valid Pennsylvania state pharmacy license Proven experience in long-term care pharmacy settings preferred Strong knowledge of medication laws, patient counseling, and clinical pharmacy practices Ability to work independently during overnight shifts while managing multiple responsibilities This contract role offers the chance to apply your expertise in a dynamic care setting with challenging overnight hours.
