Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract A pharmacy in Medical Lake, WA is seeking a dedicated Staff Pharmacist for a 9-week contract opportunity beginning August 3rd. This role offers a dynamic environment involving both PV1 and PV2 duties, with the potential for traveler pharmacists to apply. The schedule includes Monday through Friday day and evening shifts, with possible weekend rotations.
Key Responsibilities:
Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal standards. Monitor patient medication compliance and identify over-usage patterns. Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files with precision. Counsel patients on medication use, potential side effects, drug interactions, and proper handling of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters. Provide consultations on both prescription and non-prescription medications. Deliver patient-centered services including smoking cessation, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management. Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions adhering to established protocols. Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure efficient pharmacy operations. Manage inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies. Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, and pharmacy interns to identify and resolve drug-related issues.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid Washington State pharmacist license (in-hand). Retail pharmacy experience is welcomed; training will be provided for those transitioning into this setting. Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to patient safety and regulatory compliance.
