In this role, the Clinical Staff Pharmacist will be an integral member of the healthcare team, working to optimize medication therapy through the use of computerized systems, clinical expertise, and evidence-based practices. The pharmacist will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals to promote the safe, effective, and cost-conscious use of medications and support optimal patient outcomes. Key responsibilities include providing clinical pharmacy services, patient education and medication counseling, and consultation to patients and care teams. The pharmacist will also contribute to daily pharmacy operations, help ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards, and support seamless continuity of care across the patient experience. Responsibilities Deliver high-quality pharmacy services and provide clinical leadership consistent with the hospital's mission, values, and commitment to patient safety and quality care Review, assess, verify, and process medication orders in accordance with established protocols, clinical guidelines, and computerized pharmacy systems Provide clinical consultation, medication education, and evidence-based recommendations to patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals Perform clinical pharmacy functions that support departmental programs, promote optimal medication therapy, and ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and hospital standards Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives, including data collection, performance monitoring, process evaluation, and implementation of improvement strategies Coordinate and support the daily workflow of pharmacy technicians and clerical staff to promote efficiency, productivity, accuracy, and regulatory compliance Assume appropriate departmental leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Lead Clinical Pharmacist or Director of Pharmacy Participate in the recruitment, interviewing, orientation, training, and onboarding of pharmacy department staff Provide safe, effective, and age-appropriate pharmaceutical care to patients across diverse populations and clinical settings Maintain and expand clinical knowledge through continuing education, professional development, relevant training, and participation in professional organizations and affiliations Participate in department, hospital, and interdisciplinary meetings and committees as assigned Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the pharmacy department and the hospital's patient care objectives Requirements Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required Current or eligible Washington State Pharmacist License required Minimum of two (2) years of recent hospital pharmacy experience preferred; new graduates will be considered PGY1 or PGY2 residency-trained pharmacists are strongly encouraged to apply Demonstrated knowledge and skills to deliver age-specific pharmaceutical care Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications preferred Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is a plus Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse environment Benefits This position offers a competitive base salary of $108,000-$195,500, based on experience and qualifications, along with a $10,000-$20,000 sign-on bonus, depending on experience level. Up to $10,000 in relocation assistance is also available for eligible candidates who need to relocate.
