Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract This travel pharmacist opportunity is based at a 25-bed critical access hospital in Wisconsin, providing a unique and rewarding setting to apply your pharmacy expertise. You will play a vital role supporting patient care across emergency, labor & delivery, and medical-surgical units with a patient census averaging 10 to 12 per day. The position offers exposure to Cerner EMR and Pyxis automation systems, enhancing efficiency and accuracy in medication management.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily medication dispensing and provide pharmaceutical care to patients in ER, L&D, and Med-Surg units Collaborate closely with healthcare teams to optimize pharmacotherapy and ensure medication safety Utilize Cerner EMR and Pyxis systems to manage medication orders accurately and efficiently Provide patient counseling and education as appropriate Maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements regarding medication management
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Licensed Pharmacist with current credentials to practice in Wisconsin or eligible for licensure Experience in hospital pharmacy, particularly within critical access or acute care settings Familiarity with Cerner EMR and Pyxis medication dispensing systems preferred Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills
Schedule & Duration:
Monday through Sunday, working 7 days on followed by 7 days off
Weekdays:
5:30 AM to 4:00 PM; Weekend days: 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM Contract duration: 13 weeks minimum, starting with a rotation from July 6th onward This role invites pharmacists interested in gaining valuable experience in a diverse inpatient environment while enjoying a balanced schedule.
