Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract A rewarding opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist to support pharmacy operations in New Berlin, WI. This contract role begins August 17th and lasts for approximately nine weeks. The position offers a second shift schedule from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM, including rotating weekends, allowing for a consistent yet balanced workflow. In this role, you will be responsible for accepting and dispensing prescription medications while ensuring compliance with legal requirements and patient safety standards. Your duties will include monitoring patient medication use, maintaining accurate and confidential records, and advising patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and proper handling of medical devices. You will also provide valuable patient services such as smoking cessation support and chronic disease management.
Key responsibilities include:
Compounding medications and preparing sterile solutions following established protocols Supervising pharmacy technicians and clerks to maintain smooth daily operations Managing inventory for pharmaceutical and medical supplies to ensure availability Collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to address drug-related issues effectively
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Wisconsin pharmacy license (must be in-hand at start) Retail pharmacy experience is preferred, but recent graduates or those new to retail pharmacy will be considered and trained Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical laws, medication therapy, and patient counseling Excellent communication and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively with healthcare teams This position offers the chance to apply your pharmacy expertise in a dynamic environment while helping patients achieve optimal health outcomes.
