Job Description

Pharmacist Job Description The pharmacist acts as a patient advocate and serves as a resource to advise physicians on the best available pharmaceutical products or services for their patients. The pharmacist ensures that prescriptions are accurately filled and timely delivered, while counseling customers with all pertinent information on medication use. They lead the staff to achieve these objectives efficiently, legally, cost-effectively, and courteously. Responsibilities Ensure all technicians and pharmacy operations comply with pharmacy law and are conducted safely. Process, fill, and deliver prescriptions accurately to patients. Answer phone calls according to company-wide standards. Review patient profiles for drug interactions, therapeutic duplication, therapy optimization, and drug allergies accurately and efficiently. Recommend alternative pharmaceutical therapies when appropriate. Counsel patients on the correct use of their medications. Advise customers, both in-store and over the phone, on over-the-counter products, nutritional supplements, and prescription needs. Conduct medication reviews upon request by patients. Administer immunization shots accurately and efficiently. Ensure ordering, storage, and dispensing of CIIs and controlled drugs are done accurately. Follow current MTM practices, including WPQC, Mirixa, and Outcomes. Ensure proper opening and closing procedures are followed. Provide on-call emergency services to group homes. Foster an environment of team success. Essential Skills PharmD degree. Valid Pharmacist License in Wisconsin. Experience in pharmacy compounding and retail settings. Understanding of long-term care pharmacy. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience or desire to manage tech staff is preferred. Entrepreneurial spirit to generate revenue and grow the pharmacy. Work Environment The pharmacy operates Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with pharmacists working on a rotational schedule starting no earlier than 8:30 a.m. Saturday rotation occurs once per month, starting at 8:30 a.m. On-call rotations are mostly remote and occur once per month. The pharmacy is closed on major holidays, offering flexibility for a 40-hour or 34-hour work week. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $135200.00 - $156000.00/yr. 120 Hours of PTO, prorated based on hours worked.
