Doctor Of Pharmacy (PHARMD): The PharmD professional program at Western University of Health Sciences is a four-year program designed to train students for the degree of Doctor of Pharmacy. Master Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Sciences (MSBPS): The major focus of the Master of Science (MS) program in Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Sciences is to provide students with a strong research focus, training, and skills in order to prepare them for careers in academia, pharmaceutical industry, or public/private research institutions. The Position:
The Assessment Assistant for the College of Pharmacy must be flexible, calm under pressure, able to take initiative, work independently, and must be dedicated to outstanding customer service. Responsibilities include providing administrative support to the Associate Dean for Assessment, and the College's Office of Assessment. This position will also provide administrative support to assigned committees. The position is responsible for a range of clerical and administrative duties in a busy setting with many established deadlines. This is an in-person position. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Individuals must possess the knowledge, as well as the following skills and abilities or be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. Strong computer skills MS Word, PowerPoint, and any other software program required by this position and able to work with the College's assessment, tools such as SAS, SPSS, Excel, Power Point. Strong math skills, with the ability to develop, present, justify and support decisions. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with all members of the Western University community. Ability to effectively interact with external visitors and VIPs, administration, faculty, staff, and students. As directed and in conjunction with the Associate Dean for Assessment is responsible for the generation, analysis, and dissemination of evaluation and research findings for assigned projects in curriculum, evaluation, learning outcomes, and program issues. Supports curriculum reviews, generates, data-driven reports for external organizations such as accrediting bodies and state boards. Support the collaborative work conducted across faculty, staff, and administrators' groups to determine current assessment, evaluation, and research needs and to assist in the measurement of program learning outcomes. Required Qualifications Experience or a combination of education, training, and experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
Education:
Associates degree in mathematics, economics, evaluation, or a related field.
Experience:
1-2 years supporting academic assessment activities. Experience working with medium to large databases. Experience working with surveys and survey data. Preferred Qualifications Preference will be provided to: Candidates who hold a Bachelor's degree. Candidates who have experience working in an academic setting. Candidates with program assessment support, data analysis, survey tools experience. Candidates with experience importing excel style worksheet data into SPSS, or SAS. Essential Job Duties Key Responsibilities Provide administrative support to the Associate Dean for Assessment and assessment and College assessment committees. Key Responsibilities Document and track assessment meetings and memorialize assessment decisions. Key Responsibilities Assist with the tracking systems for the colleges strategic plan and evaluation plan and college goals. Assist in distributing assessment reports to college administration. Key Responsibilities Pursue profession development activities to maintain relevant skills e.g. Excel, SPSS, SAS, R. Key Responsibilities Support student based assessment activities, surveys, student development, student training, faculty development sessions, staff development sessions assessment sessions. Posting Details Continued Work Schedule Normal working hours are Monday to Friday 8 AM to 5 PM. This position will require infrequent overtime hours to support college and university campus events; these events may occur on and off campus.
