Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract An opportunity is available for an Interim Director of Pharmacy at a 70-bed Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) hospital in Coronado, CA. This role offers leadership over pharmacy operations, providing oversight and direction to ensure the highest standards of pharmaceutical care. The position includes serving as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) for the site, maintaining compliance, and optimizing pharmacy services. This contract engagement begins as soon as possible, with a duration of approximately 13 weeks and the potential to transition to a permanent role. The schedule is Monday through Friday, day shifts, supporting a balanced work-life routine. The pharmacy utilizes RX Connect IT systems, so familiarity with this platform is advantageous.
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive oversight of pharmacy operations and staff Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) ensuring regulatory compliance Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize medication management Manage inventory, budgeting, and pharmacy processes effectively Implement quality improvement initiatives within the pharmacy department
Desired Qualifications:
Active California pharmacist license Proven experience as a Director of Pharmacy in California healthcare settings Strong leadership and communication skills Knowledge of LTAC hospital pharmacy operations Proficiency with RX Connect or similar pharmacy IT systems
