Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Manager Job Type Contract An opportunity is available to serve as the interim Pharmacist-in-Charge/Director of Pharmacy at a 25-bed critical access hospital located in rural Northern California. This contract role is ideal for a licensed California pharmacist with hospital experience who thrives in a hands-on setting where direct patient care and pharmacy operations come together.
Responsibilities:
Oversee daily pharmacy operations with approximately 90% of time dedicated to staffing functions Conduct order verification and ensure accuracy in medication dispensing Supervise pharmacy technicians and support ongoing training Consult regularly with physicians and nursing staff to optimize patient medication therapy Apply pharmacokinetics knowledge to complex medication regimens Perform administrative duties including regulatory compliance and inventory management
Schedule:
Four 10-hour day shifts per week Start date: Immediate or as soon as possible
Duration:
Approximately 13 weeks
Qualifications:
Current California pharmacist license is required Demonstrated hospital pharmacy experience preferred Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to work independently in a small hospital setting This contract assignment offers an excellent chance to make a meaningful impact within a close-knit healthcare team while supporting critical access pharmacy services.
