Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
The Retail Pharmacy Courier is responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate delivery of prescription medications and pharmacy products from a retail pharmacy to patients' homes, assisted living facilities, skilled nursing facilities, and medical offices. This role supports continuity of care and medication access while delivering excellent customer service, maintaining patient confidentiality, and adhering to pharmacy and organizational protocols. The driver also supports basic delivery documentation, handling of payments when applicable, and proper transport of temperature-sensitive medications. Ensures safe operation and basic maintenance of assigned delivery vehicle.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Licensure/Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Must meet all DMV requirements listed below.
Knowledge/Experience:
Previous courier or delivery experience preferred.
Skills:
Strong attention to detail with the ability to ensure accuracy in medication delivery and documentation. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deliveries efficiently. Strong time management skills with the ability to follow structured routes and prioritize tasks. Effective communication skills for interaction with patients, caregivers, and facility staff. Basic comfort with mobile devices and delivery software applications for route management and signature capture. Dependability and professionalism in representing the pharmacy to patients and care partners.
