This pivotal role involves overseeing daily pharmacy functions, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and delivering exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Retail pharmacy, demonstrating leadership skills and a passion for improving patient outcomes. Duties Daily Pharmacy Operations Dispensing:
Verify prescriptions for accuracy, safety, and drug interactions.
Compounding:
Compound customized non-sterile medications (creams, gels, capsules, liquids).
Inventory:
Establish relationships with wholesalers and manage initial stock levels.
Patient Care:
Provide direct counseling on prescription and compounding therapies.
Business Growth & Marketing Networking:
Build relationships with local dermatologists, pediatricians, and veterinarians.
Marketing:
Develop strategies to promote specialized compounding services.
Strategy:
Identify market gaps to expand the pharmacy's clinical offerings. [1] Future Responsibilities (As the Business Scales)
Team Expansion & Management Hiring:
Recruit, interview, and onboard pharmacists, technicians, and marketers.
Training:
Educate new staff on specific compounding techniques and USP compliance.
HR Duties:
Manage staff scheduling, payroll approval, and performance reviews.
Financial & Operational Oversight P&L Management:
Manage the pharmacy budget, labor costs, and profit margins.
Audit Defense:
Lead the technical defense during PBM, FDA, or Board of Pharmacy audits.
Job Qualifications Required Education:
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm).
Licensure:
Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the State Board.
Experience:
1-3+ years in retail pharmacy with direct non-sterile compounding experience preffered
Compensation & Benefits Base Salary:
Competitive, based on experience.
