Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking a highly driven, entrepreneurial Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to serve as the clinical and operational leader of a newly established compounding pharmacy with integrated retail services. This is not a standard PIC role—this is a founding leadership opportunity to help build, scale, and shape a pharmacy from the ground up. The PIC will be responsible for regulatory compliance, sterile and non-sterile compounding operations, clinical oversight, and team leadership , while also playing a key role in business development, process creation, and long-term growth strategy . This role is ideal for a pharmacist who wants to step beyond traditional practice and become a core driver in building a modern, scalable pharmacy organization . Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Company Building Serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge of record , ensuring full compliance with state and federal regulations Act as a founding leader , helping design workflows, SOPs, and operational infrastructure Recruit, train, and lead pharmacists, technicians, and support staff Establish a high-performance, accountable, and patient-centered culture Collaborate with ownership on growth strategy, service expansion, and new product lines Compounding & Clinical Operations Oversee sterile and non-sterile compounding operations in compliance with USP , , and Ensure proper aseptic technique, cleanroom procedures, and quality assurance protocols Supervise preparation of injectables, IV formulations, and specialty compounds (e.g., GLP-1s, peptides, NAD+, etc.) Implement and maintain quality control systems , including batch testing, documentation, and validation Provide clinical oversight and consultation for providers and patients Regulatory & Compliance Maintain compliance with: State Board of Pharmacy regulations USP standards ( , , ) HIPAA and patient privacy laws Prepare for and lead inspections, audits, and accreditation processes Develop and maintain SOPs, policies, and documentation systems Ensure proper licensing, recordkeeping, and reporting Operations & Inventory Management Oversee inventory procurement, vendor relationships, and supply chain management Optimize cost efficiency, purchasing strategies, and waste reduction Implement systems for tracking, dispensing, and documentation using pharmacy software and EMR/EHR platforms Ensure smooth day-to-day workflow and operational scalability Clinical Services & Patient Care Provide or oversee: Medication therapy management (MTM) Preventive care services (e.g., immunizations, wellness therapies) Patient counseling and education Collaborate with clinics, physicians, and healthcare partners Support development of specialty programs (e.g., weight loss, hormone therapy, IV therapy) Training & Development Train staff in: Aseptic technique & sterile compounding IV preparation and handling Inventory systems and workflow efficiency Build ongoing competency programs and performance standards Mentor team members to support career growth and retention QualificationsRequired Active Pharmacist license in [State] (Florida preferred) Eligible to serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge Experience in compounding pharmacy (sterile preferred) Strong knowledge of USP , , and standards Experience with pharmacy operations, compliance, and inspections Preferred Prior experience as PIC, Pharmacy Manager, or Residency-trained pharmacist Experience in building or scaling pharmacy operations Background in retail + compounding hybrid models Familiarity with GLP-1 therapies, peptides, hormone therapy, and IV formulations Experience with vendor sourcing, API procurement, and cost optimization Key Skills & Attributes Entrepreneurial mindset with a builder mentality Strong leadership and team development skills High attention to detail and commitment to compliance and quality Ability to operate in a fast-paced startup environment Excellent communication and collaboration skills Strategic thinking with the ability to execute operationally What Makes This Role Unique Opportunity to be a founding leader in a new pharmacy company Direct involvement in building systems, processes, and brand identity High level of autonomy and influence on company direction Ability to grow into executive-level leadership (Director of Pharmacy / VP of Operations) Compensation & Growth Competitive salary + performance-based incentives Long-term leadership and expansion opportunities Join Us If you are a pharmacist who wants more than just a job—and instead wants to build something meaningful, scalable, and impactful —this is your opportunity to lead from the front.
