Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract Oversee pharmacy operations as the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge at a newly opening behavioral health facility in Peoria, IL. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the pharmacy department's development, including setting up systems, stocking medication, and establishing protocols in a startup environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the working Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge Lead pharmacy setup activities, including Omnicell automation stocking and order approvals Conduct P&T committee meetings to support formulary management Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure compliance and optimal patient care Provide on-call support during weekday evenings and potentially on weekends Participate in training for HCS order entry and Omnicell automation systems
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Licensed pharmacist in Illinois, with current and valid licensure Previous experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy preferred, behavioral health experience a plus Familiarity with HCS pharmacy system and Omnicell automation highly desirable Ability to work independently with no technician support Proven leadership and organizational skills suited to a startup pharmacy
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with on-call after shifts Weekend on-call responsibilities may be required This contract position begins as soon as May 25th and extends through July, with potential for adjustment. Engage in a critical role shaping pharmacy services at a new behavioral health hospital. Qualified candidates interested in leading this dynamic pharmacy initiative are encouraged to apply promptly.
